Is America in a war to save all Holidays?? Damn Right we are and no holidays are safe from criticism from the secular progressives. It is up to the traditional Americans to save our holidays.
For about ten years now we have been in the "battle for Christmas", as dubbed by Bill O'Reilly, from the grinch... I mean the secular progressives. We have seen trends in changing anything that have Christmas in the name to Holiday or winter. We have winter vacation and not Christmas vacation and we are required to say happy Holidays and not Merry Christmas. Even the President of Jews Against Anti-Christian Defamation says, "Merry Christmas is NOT offensive" and "Religious Freedom is for Everyone - Not Just Minorities".
That line (Religious Freedom is for Everyone- not just minorities) is exaclty what is needed to be remembered to better this country. 77% of Americans consider themselves to be some sort of Christian according to an ARIS Study. We have an issue in this country on letting the 33% of the people who don't identify with the majority have a majority voice.
Christmas is not the only holiday being taken over, Thanksgiving is making its way to center stage. In no where else but the secular capital of the nation (California) did a teacher go around his class, wearing a Black Pilgram hat made of constuction paper, and take the belonging of his students and when his students complained he just explained to them that he 'discovered' them. Now I have no problem of showing a new perspective to this holiday, in fact I promote putting over due attention to the minorities who were oppressed, but it must be POSITIVE light that shines on them. Even Chuck Narcho, a member of the Maricopa and Tohono O'odham tribes who works as a substitute teacher in Los Angeles, agrees with me "If you are going to teach, you need to keep it positive," he said. "They can learn about the truths when they grow up. Caring, sharing and giving — that is what was originally intended."
America needs to stand up and let their voices be heard that this negative attention to the holidays will not be tolerated here on our free land. We want to create equal opportunity, not oppression to yet another group of our culture. Save the traditions set in this country, we are unique to be free, and it is freeedom that we continue to fight for everyday and that encourages the world to drive for freedom. Lets continue to be the leader of this world in a quest for freedom!

Is there a solution to the War in Iraq?? Damn Right there is a solution. The pentagon presented three options for this war this week: "Go Big, Go Long, Go Home". I feel like these are the same options that have been present since the war started but I do agree with the options and that we must choose an option, be united about the option, and execute the option.
Now clearly there is a "right" option. While the democrats are wanting troop with drawl, we have heard over the last month many people weigh in on the issue and saying that option #3 is no real option. Option #3 would call for a swift withdrawl from the Iraqi region. This option has been criticized by many saying this would just leave that region unstable and worse than when we went in. Going Home could mean more potential problems hear on the Home land. Not only are republicans not in favor of this option, but neither are the commanding generals or the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani (who wants US troops there for at least three more years). Going home would be a good thing in that it would be safty for our loved soldier fighting this war, but this country would be left more vulnerable. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) says that he supports troop reduction but in gradual terms. Iraq Timetables have been a hot topic issue for the go home option not defining what is time for "gradual" or "swift".
Many would say the real debate is between "going big" or "going long". Senator McCain (R-AZ) defends his prior theory of more troops in Iraq will bring home stabilty in this war but is he in favor of "going big" or "going long". These options focus more on bring down the violence in Iraq. But what is the difference in "going big" and "going long"?
This option of "going big" would be most likely considered from those who want to win the war in a hurry. The strength in numbers policy would reinforce the troops we have already in Iraq with more troops and hope for a good senerio with power in number. A down side to this option is that "going big" wouldn't be able to be sustainable for a long period of time. We would be going all in and hope that we get the cards that make us win. Over the course of this 3 year war, our military has been stretched so in order for this plan to work, we would need to have a ground plan that worked too.
The other option "Go Long" is looking to be the heavy favorite by leaders of the war and sounds remarkably close to "Stay the Course". The difference would be an increase in troops to bring down the violence there in Iraq but then gradual withdrawl but have soldiers there for longer time. This is looking to be the middle ground of the two extremes and a more realistic chance for long term success. This option is favored by most analysist but the question of Time comes up again and what does long actually mean.
The real issue isn't what are we going to do with our troops but what are we going to do with their troops. The Iraqi military and police are the stability in the region we are hoping for but the training of their troops and officers is what is holding up this war. What we need to do is debate over how we can more effectively train the military and police force to hold their own ground and give us a foundation that is sturdy enough that we can allow withdrawl. They have to beable to take over their own security... this is where the success of the War lies.

Democrats losing already?

Does Nancy Pelosi need to learn how to manage the media more? Damn Right. The best thing about having the democrats control congress is going to be being able to point out the flaws of the party. So they have had control for 2 days more than a week (and actually they have no control until January) and already they have blown two major news stories.
The first story happend the Wednesday following the election, when President Bush announced the resignation of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. Now I credit this media control infavor of the Republicans rather than a mismanagement by the Democrats. The Thursday morning front page should have been a continuation of the sweep by the democrats and how they also had gained majority in the senate, but instead, the spotlight was shining on the advancements the Republican party is vowing to make in the next two years. Democrats were supposed to be a fix for this country, they were supposed to be the chosen ones deemed by the political gods... instead the Republicans are showing their strengths and their adaptability to make progress to their current plan for the War in Iraq. The Republicans have been able show they have heard the people speak and get a "fresh perspective" on the war.
Story number two was definitely blown by the Democrats. The Breaking News flasher going across the bottom of the TV screen and the big story should be how the Democrats have UNANIMOUSLY selected the first woman speaker of the house. This is a huge deal for America. The second person in line for the presidency is a woman! But the news channels are doing nonstop coverage on the NEW DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP and how Rep. Steny Hoyer is second in command in congress. For whatever reason, Nancy Pelosi had the need to endorse Representative Jack Murtha, for this internal race, publicly. So when the Democrats turned against her and voted in Hoyer, the news followed this story and reported it as the lack of control Pelosi has over her party. Pelosi is 0-1 when trying to unite her party and rally infavor of her positions. This had to be the worst way to lose an uplifting progressive story to internal problems. This race wasn't even close, the Pelosi favorite Murtha lost to Hoyer 149-86 votes earlier today.
There is no reason for the Democrats to lose public image before they even take office. The Democrats are already creating a frenzy of backstabbing and creating internal affairs. But I will not complain about the media whirlwind the Democrats are storming up because as their approval rating drops before they even take office, the Republicans are uniting and ready to take control in 2008.
